Vertical Microdrama Editor

About Zero Takes

Zero Takes is a high-end AI production studio producing microdramas for the major short-drama platforms, taking scripts from page to finished video. We hold a high production standard, and the edit is where that standard is set. We're looking for highly skilled editors who understand microdrama pacing and cutting, and who can deliver on quick turnaround for our upcoming projects.

The Work

You'll receive a delivered shot package of AI-generated footage, dialogue tracks, and a locked script, and cut it into finished episodes. Typical assignments are full series of 40-60 episodes, each running 60-90 seconds.

The format has specific demands: an opening that establishes stakes immediately, dialogue trimmed tight, and episode endings structured to carry viewers forward, including the paywall breaks where retention is measured closely.

AI-generated source material also behaves differently from live action. Shot-to-shot continuity requires an editor's judgment, and knowing which takes will hold up in sequence is part of the job.

Requirements

  • Vertical short-drama episodes you personally edited, for ReelShort, DramaBox, GoodShort, NetShort, FlexTV, MyDrama, or similar
  • Proficiency in Premiere Pro, CapCut, or DaVinci Resolve, with well-organized project files
  • Working knowledge of hook placement and cliffhanger timing, and the ability to explain your choices
  • Experience with AI-generated footage: continuity awareness, handling character drift, selecting usable coverage
  • Reliable turnaround without a drop in quality

Preferred

  • Sound design and mix optimized for phone speakers
  • Caption and SRT work
  • Familiarity with platform delivery specifications
  • Experience on serialized IP

Compensation and Terms

$2,000-$3,000 per project, based on the number of episodes in the series and your experience. Work is project-based, but we produce on a continuous schedule, and editors who deliver well are prioritized for subsequent projects.

How to Apply

Email [email protected] with:

  • A reel or direct links to vertical drama you edited, noting which episodes are yours
  • A brief note on your experience with the format
  • Your rate expectation within the range
  • Your typical turnaround for a 60-90 second episode
  • One vertical drama episode you consider well edited, and two sentences on why

Applications without vertical drama work in the portfolio will not be reviewed.
